Knitted
tracksuits are very popular casual wear for men. Tracksuits are
two-piece garments covering a pair of loose pants and a matching jacket.
Because of their general appearance and the nature of the fabric,
tracksuits are essentially meant to be worn in sporting activities. But
today, tracksuits have also become a favorite casual wear for both men
and women. The best thing about the tracksuit is its versatility. You
can wear the trackshirt with jeans or a little skirt and the trackpants
with a funky tee. The popularity of knitted tracksuits has grown with
the popularity of fitness and exercise. However, these items are also
selected for casual wear and lounging.

Styles of the two main parts of tracksuits
The two main parts of the tracksuit are as follows:
Jacket: Covering the upper part of the body down to the waist or
slightly below it with the following features:
- With long sleeves.
- With ribbed or elasticated bands or other tightening elements at
the cuff.
- With zippers or buttons or velcro for fastening in the front.
- With side pockets or pouch pocket at the front.
- With or without a hood.
- With or without contrasting panels.
Trackpant: The trackpant covering the lower part of the
body has the following features:
- Generally the length is uptil the ankle level.
- Close or loose-fitting.
- At times, the bottom of the trouser-legs is fitted with ribbed or
elasticated bands or zippers or other tightening elements.
- Elasticated waistband or drawstring for tightening at the waist.
- With no opening at the waist and therefore no buttons or other
fastening system.
- With side pockets or without pockets.
- With or without footstraps (stirrups).
Both the components of a tracksuit must be of the same fabric in
construction, style, color and composition. Tracksuits can be both woven
as well as knitted. While the woven tracksuits are lined garments,
knitted tracksuits are not lined garments but sometimes with a raised or
napped inner surface.
Buying Tips
When selecting Tracksuits for cold weather activities, consider the
following:

- Design features for warmth such as
- double layers or lined hood
- hand warmer pockets
- close fitting rib knit or elastic cuffs at wrists and ankles
- convertible collars that zip into turtlenecks.
- Thicker fabrics of triple, double, foam core, or firm, compacted
